When writing here for the first time, I wrote about issues I was dealing with with my hubby.

Here's a little bit about him and our history...

1) I love him dearly
2) He's a great daddy to the kids
3) His parents are German (He was born in the US and then his family moved back to Germany when he was 13 and lived there for 15 years)
4) When we met he seemed very communicative, but he seems to be withdrawing more and more.
5) We've been together for 4 years.
6) We've been married for 2 and 1/2 years.
7) He is extremely creative and intelligent.
8) He likes to post his thoughts on a German forum (they talk about world issues/politics in German).
9) He collects diecast cars - Matchbox, Hotweels, Johnny Lightning, etc.
10) He used to be a professional painter in Germany - both artistic and industrial (The amount of training he had to go through in order to become a professional legal painter is amazing!)
11) Now he works in telecommunications - Thank God he still has a job!
12) His mother was/is very controlling, made all the family decisions, couldn't see anyone else has having a legitimate idea about anything.
13) His father is one of the sweetest men I've ever met, but never stood up to (or never wanted to stand up to?) his wife.
14) He has an amazing memory about the past - his short term memory seems to suffer however (perhaps it's just not listening so the info doesn't actually get in there)
15) He is a neat freak - probably a reaction to his mother's having jillions of stacks of stuff everywhere
16) His favorite cleaner is bleach.
17) He doesn't seem to get that kids ( 2 & 3 years old) are just going to make messes.
18) He likes to putter in the garage.
19) He has umpteen million t-shirts - and like his mother, he doesn't throw stuff away.
20) I love him dearly

I read all your articles just now, I'm glad paragraphs have started, I really struggled with the first one! Everyone goes through problems, and it is tough, but your love for him is obvious and very sweet, and it's nice to see. I hope you communicate with each other and work things out, maybe you should get him to read your blog, so he see's things you aren't telling him. Good luck with it, and let us know how it goes!

Sorry about that. I was mostly just needing to vent. I went back and put paragraphs in - it was very hard to read...and I wrote it!

so he see's things you aren't telling him

Well, I really do tell him a lot. He just doesn't respond. And I'm not sure how to help him with that part.
